imos Australia was founded by Ralph Kottmann in 2006 as subsidiary of Kottmann machinery Pty Ltd.
Before Ralph immigrated to Australia, he worked for 13 years as Software developer and head of development for a large woodworking machine manufacturer in Germany (WEEKE – now HOMAG NC PROCESSING). Already while high school and University he joined his father (while his holidays) installing large woodworking machine projects all over the world and always benefitted from the gained mechanical engineering skills in combination with the electrical engineering university degree together with the applied IT and software development skills from his job after university.
In 2009 IMOS Australia Pty Ltd was registered as independent company with Ralph Kottmann as owner/director.
While IMOS Australia offered till 2009 also service for woodworking machinery, with the foundation as independent company it solely concentrates on the core software business.
